Mike Lee Becomes New District Forester in Southeast District

Mike Lee has been named the Southeast District Forester for the Mississippi Forestry Commission. His effective start date is July1, 2013.

Lee, who is currently serving as interim Southeast District Forester, has been an employee of the MFC for over 30 years, starting as the Forrest County Forester in 1980. His time at MFC includes nine years as a County (Service) Forester, six years as a Progeny Test Forester, four years as a Tree Improvement Forester, nine years as a Regeneration Forester and has been an Assistant District Forester in the Southeast District for the last five years.

“Mike’s knowledge and experience of our agency and the Southeast District makes him an asset to both MFC and the general public.” said Charlie Morgan, State Forester. “We are pleased to have him step into the position and look forward to working with him.”

Lee is a graduate of Mississippi State University with a bachelor’s degree in forestry. He is also a registered forester in the state of Mississippi.
