VIP Day at the Heavy Equipment Operator Academy
The Southern Area Heavy Equipment Operator/HEQB Academy Steering Committee/IC’s would like to extend an invitation to you to visit the 2022 Geographical Area Heavy Equipment Operator/HEQB Academy in Raymond, Mississippi. The Mississippi Forestry Commission is serving as the host for the 2022 academy at their new training facility in Raymond.
The academy dates are June 22nd through June 30th. The students will be in the field starting June 24th thru June 28th if you would like to attend during one of the field/tactics sessions. We are offering visitors the opportunity to tour the academy and observe the students during the field/tactics sessions. We will have the academy PIO staff available to accompany you to the field sites and give you a good overview and tour of the academy.
We are trying to stay more informal this year so that folks can better fit the visit into their work schedules.

Guests will meet at Hinds Community College Eagle Ridge Conference Center at 9:30 am where they will be transported to the HEA site. There will be a short welcome and presentation about the HEA. Guests will then be transported to each of the live training stations where they will see trainees in action. After the tour, lunch will be provided under the pavilion. Dress comfortably and wear outdoor shoes or boots.
