Stacy Lewis Named New District Forester in Northeast District

Effective March 1, 2013, Stacy Lewis assumed the position of Northeast District Forester for the Mississippi Forestry Commission.

Lewis, a graduate of Mississippi State University with a degree in forestry, has been interim Northeast District Forest since the retirement of Brendix Glasgow earlier this year. He was previously the Northeast Assistant District Forester for approximately 11 years, with supervision over all prescribed burn activities, wildfire activities, forest management activities, safety and shop functions for his district.

“Lewis’ experience and knowledge of his district and MFC programs made him an ideal candidate for this position” said Charlie Morgan, State Forester. “I am confident that Stacy will be a strong leader for his district and will be a great contributor to our statewide leadership team.”

Prior to his position as Northeast Assistant District Forester, Lewis served as Service Forester in that district for 8 years. He was also previously employed as a Contract Timber Cruiser for Mid South Forestry. Lewis is a registered forester with the State of Mississippi.
