Arbor Day Events, Tree Giveaways & Sales
Below is a list of Arbor Day Celebrations, as well as tree sales and giveaways. The Mississippi Forestry Commission encourages all citizens to celebrate Mississippi Arbor Day by planting a new tree, ensuring the health of our community forests for future generations.
Mississippi Arbor Day
Arbor Day became an official day of observance in Mississippi in 1926 and is observed on the second Friday in February each year. For Arbor Day 2026, Governor Tate Reeves proclaimed Friday, February 13th, as Arbor Day and February 13th – 19th as Tree Planting Week.
