Current Job Opportunities

In order for all State and/or Federal requirements to be met, the MS State Personnel Board will accept and evaluate all applications and place eligible applicants on the appropriate list.  This list will then be routed through the Mississippi Forestry Commission's Human Resources Department to the appropriate location for action.

Current Openings: 

  • Application Deadline: April 14, 2014.  Job Description.   The Southeast District of the Mississippi Forestry Commission is accepting applications for one (1) Forester I position.  This position is located in Greene County and has a starting salary of $29,804.14.  Any individuals interested in applying for, or laterally transferring to, this position may submit their applications between April 2, 2014 and April 14, 2014.  All applicants must complete an Experience and Training Record.  Employees wishing to transfer laterally must also submit a request to transfer within this timeframe.  Requests to transfer must be submitted through the requesting employees chain of command and then to the MFC Human Resources Department.  All applications and/or transfers for Forester positions must include a copy of their current registered forester’s card with their application.
  • Application Deadline: April 21, 2014.  Job Description.The Southeast District of the Mississippi Forestry Commission is accepting applications for one (1) Emergency Telecommunicator I  position.  This position is located in Stone County  at the District Office and has a starting salary of $20,337.42.  Any individuals interested in applying for, or laterally transferring to, this position may submit their applications between April 8, 2014 and April 21, 2014.  All applicants must complete an Experience and Training Record.  Employees wishing to transfer laterally must also submit a request to transfer within this timeframe.  Requests to transfer must be submitted through the requesting employees chain of command and then to the MFC Human Resources Department. 
  • Application Deadline:  April 24, 2014Job Description.   The Mississippi Forestry Commission is accepting applications for one (1) Forester, Deputy State position.  This position will operate as the District Forester for the East Central District (10 counties) and will report directly to the State Forester.  The starting salary for this position is $52,585.54.  This is a non-state service position.  All individuals interested in applying for, or laterally transferring to, this position may submit their applications between April 11, 2014 and April 24, 2014.   A job description is attached for your convenience.  All applicants must complete an application.  Employees wishing to transfer laterally must also submit a request to transfer within this timeframe.  All applications and/or transfers for Forester positions must also include a copy of a current registered forester’s card with their application.  Requests to transfer must be submitted through the requesting employees chain of command and then to the MFC Human Resources Department.  Applicants must also include a copy of their Registered Forester’s certification as an attachment to their applications.
