Urban Grant Funding

2011 Urban and Community Forestry Grant Program 

 

 

The purpose of this grant is to aid in the development of long-term, self-sustaining urban and community forestry programs.  The goal of the Urban and Community Forestry Program is to inspire or enhance local or statewide urban and community forestry programs. 

 

Funds are available on a 50 percent federal/ 50 percent non-federal matching basis through competitive grant proposals.  Click here for a example copy of the grant package.   The application period for this grant has expired.

 

This grant application should be mailed to Tympel Blansett at 103 Veterans Drive, Oxford, MS 38655.  Complete applications will also be accepted electronically.  To apply electronically, email completed application form and all required documentation to tblansett@mfc.state.ms.us.  Please note  2011 U&CF Grant Proposal – “Your city or organization” in the subject line.

National Urban and Community Forestry Advisory Council – Competitive challenge grants to support urban and community activities that are national or widespread in their impact or application.

 

Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks – Recreation is an important benefit of the urban forest and the Land and Water Conservation Fund’s Outdoor Recreation grant may provide a useful funding mechanism to assist you.

 

Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality – The community forest is a valuable contributor to mitigating the impact of air and water pollution.
